In April 2022, the Heurigen was restored and modernized in a 2-year construction phase. All of this during ongoing operations and with the utmost care.
In the first construction phase, the focus was on the kitchen, the buffet, the bar and some guest rooms. The outdoor area with terrace was also considered.
The floors were laid in the kitchen, buffet and bar rooms and the walls and ceilings were newly painted and tiled. The church wall behind the bar, which underlines the history of the Heurigen, remained as a traditional element.
Great care was taken in restoring and repairing the wooden ceilings and the doors with engraved glass inserts.
The highlight in the corridor is a bottle shelf which separates the corridor from the toilets both spatially and visually.
The floors in the parlors have also been restored or new ones laid, and the loose furniture has been renewed.
Special highlights in the romantic Eroica room are the entrance door with a Tiffany insert and the dark wooden ceiling with the wall painting.
A new coffered ceiling and new wall paneling were installed in the Fidelio Stube. A mobile partition wall was also added for using the room for several small celebrations.
In the Dornröschenhof the outer facade was repaired or rebuilt in close cooperation with the monument protection authority.
In construction phase 2, the focus was on the remaining rooms (Beethoven Stüberl, Nussberg, Legenden Stüberl, 1683, Franz Mayer), the shop with press house and the outdoor area.
Here, too, the floors, walls and ceilings were redesigned. The wooden ceilings and wall paneling restored, repaired or extended. Black cast-iron room dividers were used in the Legenden Stüberls and in the Stube 1683.
In the shop / press house, the old press was restored and repaired and cast-iron elemtns were also used.

Falstaff:
“We are deeply rooted in the history of our house. Despite moderization, we didn’t want to erase them, but underlining them. A Heuriger remains a Heuriger. I think thas this merger has been very successful for us” explains Klemens Keller, managing director of Mayer am Pfarrplatz, about the new ambience.
